Our Story
Urban Loggers began with a young entrepreneur’s apprenticeship on an organic farm. After several years of managing woods and ecological restoration, Andrew Hughes began applying his skills in residential and commercial markets. He started his own tree service company, Urban Loggers, in 2017 as a steward of the urban forest. Since our beginnings in Kansas City, Missouri, we’ve expanded out and relocated to Granville, Ohio. We are ISA certified and continue to learn and hone our craft as arborists.
Our Community
Trees have a large environmental impact on any community. At Urban Loggers, our goal is to leave an improved, lasting impact from our work. Mature, healthy trees have a positive influence on home value and community wellbeing. We consider it a privilege to serve Licking County as a trusted tree service company. For every tree we cut, we fund the planting of five additional trees through the Arbor Day Foundation.
Certifications & Memberships
ISA Certified Arborist
We are ISA certified by the International Society of Arboriculture. This certification is accredited by the American National Standards Institute, meeting and exceeding ISO 17024. Becoming ISA certified takes years of professional experience, a pre-qualified exam, adherence to a Code of Ethics, and comprehensive knowledge of arboriculture.
TCIA Member
We are a member of the Tree Care Industry Association. TCIA provides tree care businesses with educational resources to advance professionalism, best practices, safety, and proper tree care.
OCISA Member
The Ohio Chapter of the International Society of Arboriculture is a regional subdivision ISA. OCISA’s mission is to advance responsible tree care practices through integrity and credibility and thorough education, research, safety, and communication.
